Readers Guide for Honeyed Myths
29th July 2025
Hi reader,
I wrote a little reader’s guide for Honeyed Myths. It’s so important to me that readers don’t devour my stories in one sitting, as I feel you lose the magic of the stories that way. In my head, it’s like a mini Grimm’s Fairy Tales, where you read one a night before bed. I did toy with the idea of adding a reader’s guide in the preface of the book, but decided against it in the end! I didn’t want to break the magic with instructions right at the start. However, I didn’t want to scrap the guide totally, so I thought I’d include it here on my blog. Please enjoy!
The Weary God
Perfect with a cup of black tea on a cold night.
The Trickster and The Sea
Best paired with a glass of white wine and sea-salted chocolate.
Star-Cross’d
Ideally read with fresh fruit or Turkish delight on a warm summer evening.
The Gilded Curse
Goes well with coffee and dark chocolate.
The Wind’s Lament
Lovely with chamomile tea and shortbread biscuits.
The Night and The Vigil
Read by candlelight for full effect.
The Accidental Immortal
Suited to a rainy day with jasmine tea and lemon cake.
The Hungry Altar
Pairs well with red wine and a quiet room.
The Thief and The Flute
Best read on a spring morning with scones, lemon curd, and cream.
Widow’s Fruit
Richest alongside mulled wine and sweet plums.
