Greetings
1st June 2025
Hello, and welcome to my little corner of the internet.
My name is Jess. I’m a 25-year-old writer from Guernsey, a small island nestled in the English Channel that looks like something out of a storybook on the right kind of day. I’ve loved stories for as long as I can remember — reading them, writing them, daydreaming in the margins — and this blog is, in many ways, an extension of that love.
I recently finished writing my debut book, Honeyed Myths, a collection of short stories about gods, grief, love, and transformation. The stories are feminine, bittersweet, and a little strange. They are also deeply personal.
This blog will be a space for sharing more of that: the stories behind the stories, scraps of writing that didn’t quite make it into the book, reflections on myth and storytelling, and quiet thoughts on creativity.
I’m not entirely sure what this blog will become, but I hope it feels a bit like listening to a friend. A place where you’re welcome to stay a while.
Thanks for being here.
